FICAP RockStar fundraiser draws record support
14/02/2017
FICAP, the Financial Industry Community Aid Program, has announced the details of its much anticipated Who wants to be a RockStar event.
The annual RockStar event enters its 11th year in 2017, and will be held on Thursday, 23 March. FICAP is shaking things up this year, moving its marquee event to The Ivy Ballroom due to a significant increase in demand from the financial services community.
FICAP head of sponsorship Scott Baker said: “We’ve been blown away by the level of support again this year from our community of sponsors. We have set a new sponsorship record in 2017 with seven Platinum and 35 Gold sponsors.”
“On top of that, the event is a sell-out. We’re all set for 900 of the industry’s finest to turn up and rock the house on 23 March,” Baker said.
Commenting on the record year, FICAP charity selection committee member Jackie Boylan said: “Our 2017 charities – Raise, Mirabel and Shepherd Centre – couldn’t be happier. Every additional sponsorship dollar helps in raising a brighter future for Aussie kids,” Boylan said.
FICAP announced Raise as its newest charity at a sponsor event in November last year. Boylan noted at the time: “Raise impacts the wellbeing of young people in Australia by providing best practice youth mentoring programs. FICAP’s support will provide Raise with an extra 500 to 600 mentors over our three year partnership period with them.”
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016, FICAP raised more than $200,000 – bringing its overall fundraising total to more than $1.35 million to date. You can relive the 2016 RockStar event here.
FICAP started in early 2006 as a way for financial services professionals to give back to the community. Its aim is to raise money for charities that benefit young Australians and their families.
FICAP’s committee is made up of several industry participants who are part of a number of major advice, platform and banking groups. For further information visit FICAP’s website.
