SHINE for Kids announced as Financial Industry Community Aid Program’s newest charity partner at Sponsor & Charity Launch event

Last night, FICAP hosted its annual Sponsor & Charity Launch event, announcing SHINE for Kids as their newest charity partner from 2020.

Founded in 1982, SHINE for Kids is the only national charity working solely to support children and young people affected by the criminal justice system.

Incoming FICAP Chairman, Westpac Group’s Marnie McLaren said “We’re thrilled to welcome SHINE for Kids to the FICAP family. They are such an important advocate for the 77,000 children whose parents are incarcerated in Australia today.”

April Long, SHINE for Kids’ National Programs Manager said “The FICAP partnership enables SHINE For Kids to support over 60 children with a parent in prison in NSW and train over 150 teachers. Without this investment children of prisoners remain largely invisible and unsupported. Our partnership enables these children to not just survive a difficult time but to thrive.”

As well as welcoming SHINE for Kids to the FICAP fold, sponsors heard about the incredible impact their generosity has had on FICAP’s other charities, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Learning Links, and departing charity Raise.

FICAP’s Head of Sponsorship, Ironbark’s Scott Baker, also announced details for the 2020 Who wants to be a RockStar event to be held on Thursday, 26th March 2020 at RockStar venue, The Ivy in Sydney’s CBD saying “the night is shaping up to be one for the ages”.
