Wannabe RockStars get set to take the stage for FICAP’s annual fundraising event.

Sydney, 21 March, 2012 – The wait is over – ten of the finance industry’s wannabe RockStars will take to the stage tonight to battle it out for FICAP’s annual “Who wants to be a RockStar?” event. This year’s event is raising funds for the YWCA NSW “FICAP Voices” mentoring program and Open Family Australia.

With five Platinum sponsors and 20 Gold sponsors, RockStar 2012 is shaping up to be the biggest yet. Marnie McLaren, FICAP Chairperson said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have so many of our financial services peers supporting RockStar again this year. Our industry should be very proud of the contribution it has made to youth related charities in the past five years, raising over $500,000 through this event.”

McLaren said, “Tonight’s event has attracted a record crowd of more than 500 finance professionals and we’re looking to our RockStars and the FICAP House Band to put on another amazing show this year.”

Accolades up for grabs this year are:

  • FICAP 2012 RockStar of the Year
  • ANZ Wealth Best Male Artist Award
  • BT Financial Group People’s Choice Award
  • Colonial First State Entertainment Award
  • Perpetual Best Newcomer Award
  • RNC Global Projects Best Female Artist

In addition to the performances, the night will host live and silent auctions to raise money for the two chosen charities.
